Menter Cwm Gwendraeth yw’r Fenter Iaith gyntaf yng Nghymru i ennill Gwobr Buddsoddwyr mewn Pobl. Daeth y newyddion da yma dim ond un mis cyn i’r Fenter yng Nghwm Gwendraeth i ddathlu ei 20fed pen-blwydd. Nod safon Buddsoddwyr mewn Pobl (IiP) y Cynulliad Cenedlaethol yw helpu busnesau i wellau eu perfformiad a’u canlyniadau trwy wneud y gorau o’u staff. Mae’n anelu i wella rheolaeth a datblygiad staff ac i ddyrchafu gallu eu gweithwyr ac i’w galluogi i ddatblygu sgiliau newydd.
Dywedodd Deris Williams, Rheolwr Gyfarwyddwr Menter Cwm Gwendraeth fod gweithio gyda Buddsoddwyr mewn Pobl yn profi i fod yn gatalydd go iawn ac yn newid cadarnhaol yn y ffordd mae’r cwmni yn gweithredu. Dywedodd: “Rydym yn dylunio rhaglen hyfforddi staff proffesiynol sy’n gyswllt gyda datblygiad Menter Cwm Gwendraeth. Mae cyfathrebu dwy ffordd yn holl bwysig. Mae staff yn gwybod beth sy’n mynd ymlaen ac yn gallu cyfrannu i ddatblygiad Menter Cwm Gwendraeth. “Rydym yn datblygu enw da am fod yn ‘gwmni’r bobl’. Mae’n rhoi cyfle i bob aelod o staff i lunio’n dyfodol. “Ni yw’r Fenter Iaith gyntaf yng Nghymru i gael gwobr Buddsoddwyr mewn Pobl ac rwyf wrth fy modd ei fod wedi dod pan rydym yn paratoi i ddathlu ein 20fed pen-blwydd.”
Investors in People
MENTER Cwm Gwendraeth has become the first Menter Iaith in Wales to win an Investors in People Award.
The good news comes just a month before the Gwendraeth Valley-based Welsh language venture celebrates its 20th birthday. The Welsh Assembly Government’s Investors in People (IiP) standard is designed to help businesses improve their performance and results by making the most of their staff. It aims to improve staff management and development, and maximise employees' potential, enabling them to develop new skills.
Menter Cwm Gwendraeth Director Deris Williams said that working with Investors in People was proving to be a real catalyst for positive change in the way the company works. She said: “We are developing a reputation as a ‘people company’ and every member of staff is given the opportunity to shape our future”. “We are the first Menter Iaith in Wales to be awarded Investors in People and I’m particularly pleased that it has come as we prepare to celebrate our 20th birthday.” Menter Cwm Gwendraeth is a Warranted Limited Company and a Registered Charity established in 1991. The company promotes the development of community development initiatives, social enterprise and the Welsh language working to complement the community vision framework of the National Assembly of Wales. Support and strengthen healthy social networks and help create a vibrant sustainable community.
Build connections between the local community, economic activity, quality of life, the environment and the Welsh language.
Encourage social conditions which foster positive attitudes towards the Welsh and normalise the use of Welsh as a medium of
communication, both orally and the written form.
Menter Cwm Gwendraeth was originally formed to work within the Gwendraeth area but the constitution was amended stating that services could be undertaken within the Region of Wales.
